Peaceful location with beautiful view!

"This house was such a blessing to us! God knew just what I needed. My mom passed away in September 2014 and Christmas without her has been difficult. I love my Canadian in-laws, but I was worried how I would handle the hustle and bustle and more family Christmas celebrations while visiting them from California. The first morning I woke up in this home and walked out to the view in the living room, I knew we picked the right place. It is so peaceful. So tranquil. It was just what I needed. Every night my husband and I would put the kids to bed and then unwind in front of the fire. A great way to fill up for the next day.

The day we arrived it was very late at night and we were all exhausted. Thankfully and quite unexpectedly we found a large bowl of fruit on the counter and some of our favorite breakfast foods in the fridge. Eggs, bagels, cream cheese, milk, granola, yogurt, etc. That detail was so appreciated by all of us - great hospitality!

We had an amazing time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Vancouver area. We will be staying here again in the future!"

Excellent stay!

My son and I were in Port Moody to meet my new grandson, and wanted a place close by. We reserved the 1 bedroom suite, which was perfect for us. When we arrived, Micheline welcomed us with a tour and answered any questions we had. She was very friendly and hospitable. Since we checked in on New Year's Eve, she even had a bottle of champagne for us! I must say that this suite was so much better than I had expected, I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Micheline had a refrigerator stocked with breakfast supplies and snacks. They were much appreciated. The suite itself was immaculately clean, and the location on the water was a beautiful setting. Our stay was peaceful and quiet. TV and wifi were available. Private dock on the Burrard inlet provided an outstanding view. Full kitchen with microwave and all the necessities. I will definitely stay here when I come back to visit, if it is available.

Amazing views, nice owners

"This place is amazing!! I traveled with my family and it was the perfect size for 5 adults and 1 2 year old. The owner even left us a high chair & pack n play for our daughter in the downstairs apartment. She also left some basic foods for us like bagels, eggs & milk. The views are spectacular!! We had a wonderful time and would love to return."

Best ever waterfront rental

"We had a glorious time in this amazing place. The hosts could not have been more accommodating!! The decor was well done, the kitchen was very well appointed with beautiful dinnerware, stemware and everything you would want. There was lovely outside furniture on both patios. All the personal touches made this place special including the outside fire pit, and beautiful pots on the patio. There was a great park and beach within walking distance. The park rents kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. We enjoyed the small villages and community and all it had to offer. We thought we would spend more time in Vancouver but actually found it hard to leave this relaxing place. The only down side was it got warm in the late afternoons, no air conditioning. We planned our days to be out and about at this time of day so it really wasn't an issue for us."

Fantastic retreat in a gem of a town

"We arrived in Port Moody having been travelling for over sixteen hours. We were greeted by the welcoming owner who showed us around, left us top tips of where to go to eat, what to do and see and the most generous welcome pack that I have ever experienced. Our fatigue was instantly forgotten as soon as we looked out of the panoramic living room window - wow!

The property was well equipped and the perfect place to relax and unwind. Vancouver is close by and accessible via the Sky train so there is no need to drive into the City.

Port Moody itself is an absolute gem of a town with lots to do and a great base for walking and exploring.
The one draw back would be the third bedroom which is small .

There is a railway running to the front of the property but it didn't cause any problems at all. Miss this place at your peril."

Pretty as a picture.

"This home is as beautiful as the pictures on the website. We were travelling in a group of 7 - extended family and teenagers. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and more than enough storage space for us to unpack our suitcases and settle in for our 9 day stay. The views from the loungeroom made the few rainy Vancouver days we had very enjoyable, and there are beautiful walking paths nearby. The owners of the property met us promptly at the house and had stocked the fridge and pantry with more than basic supplies, which was an unexpected surprise. Our stay was absolutely fantastic."

"... We really are missing Port Moody - particularly the fish mongers! It seems such a distant memory already, especially as we're now back at work. Thank you for helping create the most wonderful holiday memories. We loved the house, its beach, the open fire and the private pier. We've never had such a wonderful vacation home ever and you've now set standards so high that we'll just have to come back and enjoy it all again..."

"We recently had a two week holiday in Canada and having enjoyed a road trip for the first week (Banff, Lake Louise, Revelstoke) we decided we would like to spend some time in Vancouver but at a more relaxing pace than perhaps staying in downtown. We looked at several options but were taken by Micheline's place in Port Moody. It seemed to have the perfect balance of proximity to downtown but a great and relaxing place to stay. We did little more research than looking at location and photographs and hoped for the best!

Micheline greeted us on arrival and gave us a full tour of the house. It was incredible!! Often I worry that photographs will over sell a holiday home, but it was even better than we'd expected. The views are breath taking, the house is so comfortably furnished, and the fridge had been stocked by Micheline as if we were her own family. Not only that, but she brought lots of toys for our children to play with (who both remained silent at this point as they were both amazed by the place!).

On our first day, we decided to leave the car and stretch our legs, so walked to Rocky Point Park. A fabulous walk, mainly through meandering trails and boardwalks. The park was great for kicking a ball with the kids, watching the wildlife from the pier, eating fish and chips (Pajo's is as good as any fish and chips I've had in England) and enjoying the delicious ice-cream.

There are not many tourists in Port Moody, which surprises me as it's a wonderful place to stay. The quality and choice of food available at the local fishmongers, butchers, Italian Deli and grocers was phenomenal! We shopped there every day for our supper with a regular trip to the liquor store for Canadian beers and wines. The Deli made the most delicious cake for our son's 5th birthday! Everyone made us feel so welcome.

If Vancouver wasn't such an amazing city in it's own right, I'd be happy to spend several weeks in Port Moody, walks on the doorstep, fabulous hosts, outstanding setting, great local shops and friendly people. We're not sure when we'll return but given how wonderful the house is, we're keen to return soon.
A huge thank you to Micheline and Franco for hosting a wonderful vacation home in a fabulous setting. We've made memories for a lifetime!

"My parents spent 5 days at Micheline's wonderful place. Micheline was very helpful, before my parents even got there and especilly upon their arrival and during their stay. The apartment is very clean and provided with every neccessity you could think of and to top it off: the water view is just incredible. My parents would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend it."

"The property definitely has the Wow factor. Owners are excellent. Great market and restaurants nearby. Would definitely go back."

"We stayed here while having repairs done to our home. The home is clean, bright, has a well stocked kitchen with nice quality cookware, utensils, etc, has comfy beds with quality linens and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Micheline was friendly and accommodating and even added the special touch of stocking the fridge with breakfast items, fruits, snacks and beverages at check-in which was such a lovely surprise. The view is fantastic, there is always something interesting to watch on the water be it rowers, seals, trains across the tracks, birds, freight liners, etc. the neighbourhood is safe and friendly and conveniently located close to shops, dining and parks/ beaches. You will not be disappointed if you chose to stay here!"

The Beach House is a beautiful place to stay, you will never want to leave.. . We sure miss it.. "

"Wow is all I can say! Staying at your lovely beach house made our 15 day trip one we will never forget! The entire suite was spotless and your elegant furniture provided and luxurious and comfortable feel for my entire family. We're really going to miss waking up to that one of a kind view of the inlet. In my 8 years of travel I have never been blessed with the hospitality you provided my family, its not everyday the land lord has your whole family over for dinner and brings you delicious desserts! Perfect location and there were many beatiful attractions that were just minutes away such as rocky point and Buntzen lake which was Breath taking. Your not going to get better service and hospitality than what Franco and Micheline provided for my family ; I owe it to you for making my vacation to Vancouver a trip to remember and I will definately be back!"

Peaceful and Tranquil would best describe my 1 month stay at The Beach House On Alderside in Port Moody, BC. I was looking for a place outside of the city to relax and I found it at The Beach House on Alderside. It's still close enough to downtown that I can enjoy the nightlife available in downtown Vancouver, yet far enough away to find nature outside my back door.

I rented the lower 1 bedroom/1 bath suite that is nicely decorated with soft white accents that create a bright and comfortable space. The bedroom has a beautiful view of the bay and is a nice size with a walk-in closet. The living-room has double glass doors with another wonderful view of the bay as well as a Futon/Couch, fireplace and a large flatscreen TV. Outside the living-room doors is a Veranda with comfortable seating that overlooks the bay and leads down to the boat dock. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need to make a nice meal as well as a dining area.

The owners, Micheline and Franco have a BEAUTIFUL house in an AMAZING location "on the water" in Port Moody. This warm and charming couple have done everything possible to make my stay comfortable and pleasant. I have never had such gracious and friendly "Landlords". I feel fortunate to be staying in such a wonderful place and blessed to have met Micheline & Franco!

Also, Micheline and Franco have lived in this area for over 20 years so they know the area very well. On my arrival, they provided me with a list of local Restaurants, Shopping, Hiking Trails and Parks. There is also a very nice Recreation center a 1/4 mile away, which includes a Library, Theater and Gym. The Recreation Center even hosts a delightful Farmers Market with most of the food "Organic" and grown locally. If you are coming up with the family, there are several beautiful local lakes (Buntzen, Sasamat & Belcarra) that are 10 to 15 minutes away. Or if you like there is a 3km trail around the bay that you can reach by walking down Alderside Rd.

I will definitely be returning to The Beach House On Alderside and will HIGHLY recommend this fabulous vacation rental to everyone I know!

We have just stayed at waterside beach house it was amazing . The views from thr house across the inlet are absolutly beautiful. Its was so peacful. Clean and tidy. Everything we could possibly want. Micheline had left us some essential foods as vie arrived late, Recommend great place to stay.

This vacation rental is an excellent place for a vacation. The communication between house owners Micheline and Franco was perfect and they gave us a warm welcome. There was more than we needed and the description of the house was perfect. We really recommend this place and will be happy to come again. Keep on , thank you for all
